“Signs From God” at St. Anthony’s May 22-24

Do you believe in Miracles?A very exciting event will be taking place over the course of three nights at St. Anthony of Padua church in New Bedford (Acushnet Ave) May 22nd-24th at 6:30pm-9:00pm.

Nationally known Catholic Speaker Tim Francis, who travels around the country in an effort to help Catholics gain a deeper understanding of Christ’s real presence in the Eucharist, will speak about incredible, jaw-dropping miracles that prove our Faith. His presentation will include scientific data, video footage, and witness testimony of Eucharistic miracles, stigmata, and bleeding statues.

The same presentation will be given each evening, allowing listeners to hear it again or bring back others to hear the awesome presentation for themselves.

Doors will open at 6.p.m. for the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary followed by Tim Francis presentation/testimony. There’s no charge to attend any of these three presentations but we do ask for a free will donation to help alleviate the cost involved.

As there is limited parking near St. Anthony’s, St. Francis Xavier parish has organized buses to depart from the SFX church parking lot each evening at 6pm. The suggested donation for the bus is $5.00.

Invite family and friends! Skeptics and those with a “I will believe it when I see it” attitude don’t want to miss this event!

Parish Lenten Mission March 6-8 (& Recordings)

Parish Lenten Mission March 6-8 (& Recordings)

This week is our parish Lenten Mission which will take place on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evening (March 6-8). We are pleased to welcome to St. Francis Xavier, Fr. Chris Peschel, pastor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in New Bedford and St. Teresa of Calcutta school, as our mission preacher. His reflections are entitled “Without Me You Can Do Nothing” (John 15:5) centering on the gift of our Eucharistic Lord truly present to us in the Blessed Sacrament. Fr. Peschel is truly a gift preacher. All are sure to be inspired by his preaching as we seek to grow in our relationship with the Lord during this Lenten mission.

Here is the schedule for the 3-night mission:

Each evening, Fr. Ryan will be available to hear Confessions from 5:30-6:20 pm.

On Monday and Tuesday, we will begin with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at 6:30pm. Fr. Peschel will then preach his meditation. We will conclude with Benediction at 7:30pm.

On Wednesday, we will conclude the 3-day mission with Holy Mass beginning at 6:30pm. Fr. Peschel will deliver his final mission talk in the context of the homily.

Each evening, immediately after the mission, Fr. Peschel and Fr. Ryan will be available to hear Confessions until all have been heard.
