The Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) is a part of the comprehensive youth ministry program for the Diocese of Fall River. The CYO organizes athletic leagues and tournaments for diocesan youth. Through athletics, CYO assists in the youth’s spiritual, physical and social development. The CYO is jointly sponsored and administered by the parishes, and the CYO Office. The objective for all CYO programs and activities is that these be well organized, properly supervised and based upon Catholic values and principals.
At St. Francis Xavier Parish & School we participate in the youth basketball program which runs from fall through late winter. This program is for both boys & girls. The CYO Teams are organized in two teams: A-Team (grades 4-6) and C-Team (grades 7-8). Participating youth are expected to attend all practices and to display Christian sportsmanship.
